Q: Why is there a swimsuit competition?
A: The swimsuit competition is actually a physical fitness competition. You will be judged on how fit you are, not how good you look in a swimsuit.
A: The platform is a community service that you feel strongly about. For example, Breast Cancer Awareness, American Red Cross, C.O.V.E., etc. Easy to follow instructions will be given to you to type a one page essay about the platform you have chosen. The resume gives the judges information on your academic life. Once again, there are easy to follow instructions to type a one page academic resume. Help if always available if desired.
A: The Miss America Organization has teamed with the Children’s Miracle Network. The entry fee to these local, state and national pageants will partially benefit the Children’s Miracle Network. It is fairly simple to raise the money when contributors are told that it is helping children. The entry fee of $100 is easy to raise by asking $10.00 from ten people or by getting a sponsor.
A: You will participate in the Miss Michigan Scholarship Pageant in June. Each contestant receives a $500.00 scholarship. Should you win a preliminary award or place in the top ten, the scholarship money increases. You will also need to attend the two required meetings with the Miss Michigan Organization which are Contestant Orientation in March and Fall Forum in October or November. You will be asked to make several local appearances as well, such as parades, Friday Night Live events, some school events. The Miss Michigan Organization is also working with the Dr. Pepper/Snapple Group. They like local titleholders to help with product promotions at Walmart and Meijer stores.
A: The Princess Program is a fundraiser that will benefit the Miss Ludington Area Scholarship Fund as well as a local organization. The pageant likes to give back to the community. The Princess Program is a fun experience for all participants that will give them an opportunity to be on stage, get crowned, have their moment in the spotlight with mom and dad watching, and to feel special. At this age, we want them to all feel like princesses. Eventually, we will start a Miss Ludington Outstanding Teen Scholarship Pageant that these Princesses can compete in.
